Hello Folks!
I just watched the movie KALISHANKAR tonight. I watch quite some Oriya movies every now and then and after watching them only I am writing this review/comment.
This movie is completely full of loopholes! Believe me. By the end of this movie you cant stop discussing the loopholes with your friends.
Let me discuss some-
1. Meghna Mishra is separated from her family and despite living in the same town, she never attempts to go back to her old home even once in 10 long years!
2. Siddhant and Anubhav meet in the movie with a fight sequence where Anubhav has been asked to kill Siddhanth. Later during the fight sequence he [Anubhav] happens to bang his head in the Krusna Temple and regains his memory. At that point of time all of a sudden God knows how, both of them recognise each other without asking any questions!!
3. The movie starts with the separation of 3 children who look to be somewhere around of the age group 7-10 years. Then the movie shoots ahead 10 years and the three children have grown into Siddhanth, Anubhav and Meghna. Is is real hilarious because by no means they look like 20 year olds. Maybe a gap of 15-18 years would have done some justice to their looks!!!
Believe me friends there are many loopholes and if I discuss theme here, it will be a never ending comment.
Mr Nanda completely ignored the humor element in the movie! Except for a few scenes which were not really that comic, one could easily spot the lack of humor in the movie.
There were some special effects in the movie and they were damn nonsense. With due respect to the producers, if the budget doesn’t allow to go for good special effects then it would have been great to keep things simple in my opinion.
And our actors need to shed their flabs! Anubhav who is a brilliant actor needs to get rid of the flabs and maybe come up with some packs instead. He seems to have added on massively!
Maybe the Producer wont give a damn to my review because he might end up with profits with this movie. I think producers should start targeting a bigger audience and only then there are chances of the industry progressing. Well I would like the Oriya cine critics to start doing the jobs seriously i.e. criticizing movies that have loopholes so that they aren’t repeated again!
This particular movie will obviously be applauded by a particular section of the audience I am sure and that section of public will be enough for the producer to grab profits. But by no means it will help in improving the industry! If we look down south, people hardly watch Hindi movies. And thats because the quality of regional movies is so high. Well in our industry the budget doesn’t allow us to go for high quality stuff, so what? We can come up with some good stories rather than going for the same old brother sister revenge theory! And our actors are pretty good in what they do. So why not come up with a good script. I am sure that doesn’t require a huge budget.
I hope people take the positives from my review!

Sir,
may be reviews are not given on films here , i didnt find a place , but i had to write about this movie. I watch oriya movies whenever i can and this particular movie had drawn my attention due to its huge ensemble cast.
But i have to say it was a total waste of money , the movie is absolutely crap.
The first look at our heroes only makes you lose interest , the heroes are too fat for a HERO look even shahrukh khan at his age can go for a 6-pack ab then why cant our heroes even look slimmer. The movie is full of mistakes at every point and if i start describing them this space and two more pages will get over. The whole thing is that , we know that oriya movies have a budget crisis
so we should look to make more qualitative films than just for the sake for making a film .The audience today is getting more and more intelligent and understanding the story and acting much better, iam sure the industry must be having young minds which could churn out new stories which would bring the audience in greater nos. and a fresh mood.Iam proud to be an oriya but movies like this make me feel that our industry is still in last millenium , where the world has progressed and we are still stuck with old brother sister revenge stories . Even that might have worked if presented in a fresh perspective and some new ideologies.I hope the producers look into these comments made by an audience of the film , they might overlook it as the film will make profits but that would be a short term solution , if the industry has to look ahead then it got to add new plots , new ideas , then only our industry might have chance.
From a proud oriya
